Hancock to make Formula Two Debut in Germany

The Reiging 2008 BARC Formula Renault Champion will make his FIA Formula Two championship debut at Oschersleben in Germany on the 4th September 2009. Hancock has signed a last minute deal to secure him a seat in the last 6 races of the brand new Formula Two Championship, run and owned by ex F1 driver, Jonathon Palmer. The races will be held at Oschersleben - Germany, Imola - Italy and Barcelona - Spain.

Hancock will use the test car for the first two race weekends before moving over to his own chassis for the season finale in Barcelona. He will have his first run out in the Williams F1 desgined, Audi powered machine at Bedford Autodrome for acclimitisation this Wednesday, before he has his first proper test at Oschersleben on the 4th September.

"It all came together pretty quicky" said Ollie. " I was at the previous round at Donington having a look around in search of a seat for 2010 when they offered me the seat for the remainder of the season. Everything was in place within 3 days and I was ready to sign."

"I have never been to any of the circuits before so learning them will be a big step for me, but I will use a simulator as best as I can to learn them. The next 6 races will really prepare me for a full attack on the 2010 Title in Formula Two, im not expecting to be at the front right away against drivers who have done 2000km more running than me, although I'll try my hardest"

The Formula Two cars are over double the power of what Ollie is used to during the last 2 seasons of Formula Renault, but he is more than looking forward to jumping in the hotseat. " I have always enjoyed driving cars with more power, I like to slide a car round the corners using the power to help maniplulate that, so It should suit my style pretty well" remarks Ollie.

"I just have to say a huge thank you to all of my sponsors The Drivers Club and Race2Win and my family for their endless support, who without them I would not be racing.
