Hancock and Team Lotus To Race Britcar 24hrs

Ollie Hancock and the new Lotus Evora GT4 is set to make its British racing debut in next month's Britcar 24 Hours at Silverstone.

The 4L V6-powered car will be driven by Le Mans Series racer Johnny Mowlem, former Honda Formula One tester James Rossiter and 2008 Formula Renault BARC champion Ollie Hancock, and has been entered by the factory Team Lotus outfit.

"We are purely using the 24hrs as an extended test. The way the race is controlled is perfect for us to continue our development with the car, and also to try the car in various different settings, using large wings and splitters, plus running on the Dunlop tyres will allow us to understand the car more. Its also my first 24hrs experience so im incredebly excited by this." says Hancock

"To also have team mates like Jonny and James is fantastic as we all get on extremely well, they are both so accurate with their feedback, so between the three of us we should be able to make some great progress. Also, Jonny has done many 24hr races, so having somebody like him with his experience on the team is ideal. Im sure I will learn a thing or two from him."

The Evora took a pole position in the hands of Hancock at the GT4 European Cup round at the Nurburgring last month before going on to finish fourth and eighth in the two races.

This year’s Britcar 24 Hours, the sixth running of the event, takes place on October 1-3 at the Northamptonshire circuit.
